CBC’s The National & CTV’s W-5

Between 2000 and 2012, Alexandre Trudeau and I worked together on numerous geopolitical conflict docs for Canada’s premier current affairs programs The National (CBC) and W-5 (CTV), including:

THE NEW GREAT GAME – a docuseries about pirates, pariahs and world powers competing for strategic global waterways (CBC’s The National).

SECURE FREEDOM – a documentary about terror suspects being held without trial in Canada’s “Guantanamo light” (CTV’s W-5).

BELGRADE: ONE YEAR AFTER – a documentary about activist youth in Serbia who helped overthrow the Milosevic regime (CBC’s The National Magazine).

EMBEDDED IN IRAQ – Alexandre Trudeau embeds himself with a Baghdad family during the “Shock and Awe” campaign (CTV’s W-5).

Here’s a CBC i-doc I wrote and directed the video content for with Friends & Enemies:

I also researched and co-produced on a three-part radio documentary with Trudeau for CBC Radio’s The Current about the legacy of Canadian peacekeeping, featuring interviews with Gen. Roméo Dallaire, Louise Arbour and Michael Ignatieff.
